Portal
In Portal, Hiva Alizadeh unravels the architecture of space, time and identity through a hypnotic cascade of synthetic hair and vibrant colors. Suspended in the air like a mirage or apparition, this sculptural installation pulsates with paradoxical energy, at once ephemeral and monumental, delicate and defiant.
Alizadeh, an Iranian-born, London-based artist, weaves together threads of displacement, memory and ornamentation, drawing inspiration from both Persian aesthetics and contemporary abstraction. The fluid, tangled forms suggest a threshold, a liminal zone where cultural references dissolve into pure visual rhythm. The physical structure of the work suggests the outline of a door or an arch, while the lower layer collapses symmetry into entropy, inviting the viewer to lose orientation and enter the portal. The artist comes with Enari Gallery in Amsterdam.
